Consultative and evaluative services are available to private and public agencies on-site by appointment. These services are recommended for school districts or families in need of an independent or second opinion regarding eligibility of services according to state and federal guidelines and evaluation of students in need of alternative and augmentative communication systems.
Description of Services:
Evaluations and consultations are conducted on-site, in the setting where the student is most likely to work for a majority of the day. Written documentation of the evaluation visit or consultative notes are provided to the support staff following the on-site visit. Reports and consultative notes include practical recommendations, suggestions and resources for developmentally appropriate intervention and usage of the AAC system throughout the school day. Additional site visits to work with the student’s support staff (SLPs, caregivers, special education staff) to develop a communication system that will meet the needs of the individual student can be provided as deemed appropriate by the school district or contracting agency.
